Fics like What if I Hold Onto the Hurt?

After the tower, after the murder attempts, after Bruce dies, after Connor, after Bart, after Robin, after the desert, after the dust settles, and Bruce comes back, after everything Tim has gone through...he fails to cope. The anger and grief build and build, until finally Tim cracks. His solution: leave everything behind. Maybe the highway can tell him how to stop feeling this way. .... Tim can’t remember how he ended up with the pen. Maybe it was pilfered from Bruce’s untouched corner office in the first few weeks Tim took over at WE. Maybe Bruce left it in a common area of the manor, and Tim picked it up to write something, pocketing it thoughtlessly. That’s just like him. Picking up the discarded things of Bruce Wayne and mistaking them for his belongings. Until they are unceremoniously ripped from his hands.
