Fics like i believe in love, i believe in us

Kabu was so engrossed in his next attempts, he failed to notice Dudunsparce’s Pokéball wriggling against the belt it was strapped on beneath his white puffer jacket, nor did he catch the steady fall of footsteps coming toward him until he felt a firm grip on his shoulders, followed intimately by the press of a lean chest and the smell of bergamot perfume invading his senses. The smartwatch wrapped around Kabu’s right wrist showed an uptick in his heartrate when a deep, monotone voice asked, “How many boxes do you need?” from way above his head. Or: when the first day of his work trip in the Galar region ended with him being sick of the region's curry-exclusive diet, Medali's Normal-type Gym Leader, Kabu, was forced to raid the local supermarket to cook himself a proper meal. Little did he know that he would not just find the ingredients that he needed, but also a love story with a burning twist in his old age.
