Fics like The Royal & the Grimm (Part I)

Nick Burkhardt knows all about the supernatural world and the colourful (murderous) history of his bloodline. He’s more than happy to stay on the sidelines, leaving that sort of hunting in the capable hands of his aunt. He’s a detective, rather a good one too. It's a job that fits in with his simple worldview of clearly defined rights and wrongs, and he loves it. The illusions of his relatively normal life shatter when Marie dies. The family curse settles in him as if he's its new home, widening his perception into things he had wished with all his heart to avoid. Thrown into a life he's never wanted, Nick is determined to navigate the new world in his own way.
