Fics like A Hand Redealt

Jedi Master Mace Windu does not die on that fateful day at the top of the senate building. He carries on, driven by his pain and regrets. A dark encounter while on the run from the newly founded Empire leads him to travel the path of time backward, to a galaxy not yet plunged into global war, where a younger version of himself just stepped into the seat of High Councillor. Between keeping his identity and knowledge of the future hidden, accidently adopting a baby, and foiling the decamillennial plans of the Sith, Mace Windu has his hands full. Somehow, this does not even take into account the Mandalorian issue. Or the fanclub. Yes, the fanclub might be the worst part of it all.
