Fics like When the Labyrinth Remembers

Sarah has been trying to forget the memories of the Labyrinth and its Underground inhabitants for ten years. Never grounding herself, therapist after diagnosis, convincing her nothing was real. Until, a raven comes to see her and she’s forced to accept that it wasn’t in her mind, it was all real. She’s asked to return to the Underground by a new friend, to test his theory on an old ritual. Jareth is to be married. But for uncertain reasons, he was still curious about the young woman who did the Run. Privately, he looked in on her, somewhat saddened that memories of his kingdom delivered dark nightmares that ultimately troubled her life well into adulthood. Over time, his connection to her lessoned and soon she was less than a blur whenever he would look in on her. He accepted it and stopped his attempts. Sarah is given an opportunity to lose all her memories to the troubled past, one she still couldn’t come to terms whether it actually happened. It’s something worth walking into her dreams for, in order to live a normal fulfilling life.
