In terms of his job, he had climbed the ranks faster than anyone else. Already a Section Chief with his own team. The proper higher ups were kissed up to, the proper subordinates were menaced. He prioritized his life and job over everything else. He was flourishing. So what if his long-term subordinate just died? People come and go so easily, it was best not to get attached, so of course he felt nothing about it. And the fact that it happened the day before that specific anniversary definitely did not make it hurt worse. Baek Saheon was fine. So when a Doll in a familiar shape appears on his desk, delivered by someone he thought was long dead, what else was he supposed to do? NOT bring it into a Darkness with him and follow the instructions in order to summon himself a Good Friend? It wasn't like he needed the companionship or anything... But maybe this one wouldn't leave him.
