Plus fighting, at this point, would ensure that Armand’s episode continues. He finally knows why his maker’s distress cuts him so deep. Armand glances up. His eyes are huge, apocalyptic, squeezing shut. His mouth is quivering, emitting nonsense whimpers. He’s waiting to be thrown into a wall. Not today. Never again, if Daniel can help it. Daniel steps over to Armand, lowers himself to the ground beside him. Armand’s arms wrap around himself, bracing for impact. ~~~ Armand and Daniel figure it out.
