Fics like "Love the person, not their gender..." (A RuiKasa Fanfic)
He had grown up with the script of life laid neatly before him: a grand, shining star, a leading man who would one day stand on the world stage, perhaps with a lovely maiden by his side, bowing to thunderous applause. Loving a man—loving Rui—felt like ripping up the script and throwing it into the fire. It felt unnatural. It felt wrong. It felt like a betrayal of everything he was supposed to be. Yet, when it was just the two of them working late on a new prop, or when Rui’s long fingers brushed against his wrist while adjusting a harness, Tsukasa didn’t want to be anywhere else. When the curtains finally closed on a successful show, and the adrenaline was still singing in his veins, the only place he wanted to be was right next to Rui, bowing in unison to the crowd, feeling the warmth of the other boy’s shoulder brushing against his. He didn't just want Rui in his cast. He wanted him. All of him. And the realization terrified him to his very core.
