Fics like The Eyes of the Chief

Chief Hakoda is a very observant man, especially where his children are concerned. After his son and the most curious prince of the Fire Nation rescue Hakoda (and Suki) from Boiling Rock Prison, Hakoda watches his daughter save the world, watches the shape of her life afterward with disappointment, before finally finding hope again once she finally distances herself from the Avatar and finds joy and great success on behalf of their people in the Fire Nation. Follows the events of late Book 3 from Hakoda's POV before expanding in events past the end of the series.
