Vox really tried to ignore all of the facts pointing to the truth that Alastor is a straight man. Alastor told him—several decades ago, when he thought that they might be friends—over some drinks that he never really felt romantically or sexually interested in anyone. He thought, because of that comment, that it meant he might have a chance. He didn’t say he just doesn’t like men. He said he didn’t like women either! However, Vox always knew deep down that he was kidding himself.
