Fics like from dark clouds to sunny skies

Highways became roads quickly. Roads with fields, stretching as far as her eyes could see, on either side. Roads with fields and farms. No city in sight. Concrete replaced by rolling hills of grass. Patches of woods where clusters of buildings used to be. Everywhere she looked, there’s animals. Cows, horses, goats, and the occasional farm dog roaming. It makes her eyes sparkle. Breathing a sigh carried up from deep inside, Dick’s hands slid down the steering wheel. “I haven’t been here in a long time.” “Where?” She asks again, adding a bit of firmness to her tone. Expecting an actual answer, this time. And to her delight, she gets one. “Kansas. Smallville.” She gasps, “Kansas?” They’re far from home. What secrets could Dick possibly have here? And when will he stop having secrets? --- After Trigon's defeat, Dick decides the kids need somewhere safe to live and ends up on Clark Kent’s doorstep. Surely this decision won't have any side effects.
