Fics like This is me trying
Eddie Diaz sat alone at his kitchen table, staring at the empty water bottle. He could still hear the priest’s words echoing in his head: “You deserve joy.” The phrase rattled around inside him, unable to find a place to land. There was nowhere it fit. No space inside Eddie for words like that. Rewrite of Season 8 from Eddie's point of view (trying to write inside thoughts for that man is tricky). Essentially Eddie has a mental health crisis due to Chris moving away and then he has rebuild his life. Trigger warning -- Eddie attempts suicide as part of his crisis. Eventually, he is going to figure some things out, like how to feel his feelings, realize who he loves, and how to be happy. But first, suffering.
