Fics like kissing salt out of your eyes

Despite the insistence from Branzy that nothing was really Clown's fault, it still feels like it is. If he hadn't left, if he hadn't abandoned Branzy in the lab, then the whole accident wouldn't have happened. The portal would've a lot more stable. The burst of energy wouldn't have hit Branzy. Branzy wouldn't have had to build his prosthetic by himself. The two of them wouldn't be in the situation they're in right now, Branzy grasping at him like he's an anchor. Or, after Branzy gets traded back from Parrot to Clown, he insisted he was fine, until he wasn't. Luckily, Clown never sits back and watches. Not for him.
