Fics like The Captain and his Valkyrie

"Did you hear who got transferred to the 3rd Platoon squad leadership?" a recruit two seats down muttered under his breath, his voice trembling slightly. "Sergeant Kim. Kim Hongjoong." A collective, barely audible gasp rippled through the row. Seonghwa kept his gaze pinned forward, but his ears pricked up involuntarily. "The 'Demon Sergeant'?" another recruit whispered back, his voice cracking. "The one from the frontline border unit? I heard he handed out extra night-guard duties to an entire squad because a single bootlace wasn't tucked into a combat boot." "God, please no," someone prayed softly. "Please put me in the 1st Platoon. Put me anywhere else." Seonghwa prayed with them silently. But as his name was called out... "Park Seonghwa!" "Squad 2, 3rd Platoon. Report to Barracks 302. Squad Leader: Sergeant Kim Hongjoong." ...he knew he was doomed. *** Staff Sergeant Kim Hongjoong was someone every lower rank soldier feared. And sometimes it were his superiors who prayed not to get assigned to order him. But the special forces was something entirely different. And they trampled on Hongjoong just like he used to trample on Squad, 2 Platoon 3.
