Fics like Serendipity

It all comes back when he closes his eyes every night, it was something that he couldn’t prevent. Newt's past always followed him to every room, as in thoughts or as in the limp in his left leg. He thought when he would walk out of the hospital it would all be left there, but of course it doesn’t work that way, how naive to even think like that? Even though it’s all always in the back of his head, the moment he opens the dorm room, different than last time, he feels them back down. Even if it is the same school as it was last year, same hallways and same classrooms, it was a new room, new view from the window and a new bed. He can decorate his room differently, have a nicer roommate and try to have a fresh start. Every hopeful and anticipation feeling crushes the moment Thomas Greenie walks in with his backpack over his shoulder and a luggage behind him. How could anyone let the past go and move forward when the main reminder of his past happens to be his roommate? But oh, how wrong he was, not having the slightest clue of what he has waiting for him ahead.
