“So, um,” Sam says, moving to stand, “We’ve got an announcement to make.” Bobby’s old, rickety dining chair makes a nasty scraping noise as it’s pushed out, and Sam winces. He seems nervous. His hand shakes as it rises to push his curtain of hair out of his eyes, and immediately, it falls right back into place. Dean looks to Jess, who’s remained sitting at Sam’s side. She reaches to grab his hand and looks at him so adoringly, a goofy smile on her face. The announcement has gotta be something big—Jess is practically vibrating in her chair. “Um,” Sam says. He opens his mouth and then stops again. “You’re pregnant,” Bobby says, eyes narrowed, staring at Sam. “What? No!” Sam says. “Why are you looking at me when you say that anyway?” “Dude,” Dean says, “What? Just spit it out.” “We’re gonna get married!” Jess squeals, beaming ear to ear. “Sam proposed!” This is an epilogue for "both sides now" that takes place about six months after the events of the final chapter.
