Fics like Don't Let It Come Crashing Down

"But why?! Why are you so insistent about this? Why do you care? About us? About me?!" The kid snapped, voice sharp but wavering with vulnerability. "Because you all deserve a second chance. The fact that you all are here proves that you are willing to change, that you want to be better. You all deserve the support to help you all be better. But that all goes down the drain if you aren't willing to take the help. So please, let me help." Or Wilbur knew his new job dispatching the Z-Team at SDN was going all too well, and now Captain Puffy was telling him that he'll have to cut one of the Phoenixes to appease upper management. He doesn't want to let any of them go, but it's either cut one of them or the entire team goes, like a fucked up trolley problem. Now Wilbur has to reign in his team from sabotaging each other to prevent getting cut while dealing with the looming dread of being forced to give up on one of these people despite the fact he knows every single one of them are trying their best as heroes.
