Fics like Bitter Cold

The bottle is pulled back not long later, water dribbling past his lips, and Kwazii brings up a paw to swipe the droplets away, letting the appendage rest against the corner of his mouth. Paani stays like that, taking heaving grasps as he closes his eyes and lets himself breathe. It’s not long before the silence is broken. “Kwazii,” He gets out eventually, the name jittery on his tongue but decipherable anyway. “Thank you.” He opens his eyes to meet Kwazii’s inches from his own. Kwazii flinches back, but Paani stays where he is, patient as Kwazii’s hand trails from his cheek to the junction between his shoulder and his back. “Don’t mention it. It’s what any Octonaut would’ve done.” After a second, he coughs and adds, “Or agent.” Or, Paani acquires hypothermia after pulling a Kwazii and running off mid-mission. Kwazii follows after him, caring for him in the aftermath until the other Octonauts can get there and treat him properly!!
