Fics like A Step Toward Clarity

The Revenge had appeared on the horizon a couple hours ago and was easing into the bay now, flanked by Zheng Yi Sao’s new flag ship, the Phoenix. Ed kept them in his peripheral as he carefully readjusted the little vases full of frangipani blooms spaced along the lengths of the banquet tables. This had to go smoothly. No fires, no explosions, no pointed looks or whispered gossip. If Ed could just get this perfect, then everything else would fall into place. "‘S fine. It’ll be super chill. We’re all gonna be super chill about this.” The news had come in a letter a couple years ago, penned by Lucius on behalf of the crew. Some big changes were happening aboard the Revenge, he’d told them. The biggest change, though, had to do with Izzy. -- It's been five years since Stede and Ed saw the crew of the Revenge. This visit is a chance, Ed hopes, at a fresh start with an old friend. That is, if she'll let him.
