Fics like down with the ship

“I want to talk to the rookie,” Ilya tells Shane. “He seems nervous. I think if you are there, he will be – not scared, but something like that, you know?” “Intimidated, yeah,” Shane says, nodding. “I get it, it’s better if you talk to him one-on-one. I’ll wait in the car, no problem.” “Thank you, Shane.” Shane hugs him close, despite their bulky, sweaty gear. “Thank you,” he murmurs. “You’re amazing. I always knew you were a great captain, but seeing you today was something else.” --- Five times Ilya is a good captain to the Centaurs and one time they show him how much they appreciate it.
