John Winchester is a proud legacy of the Men of Letters, he has a beautiful wife, two wonderful sons married into good bloodline families, and a second grandchild on the way. Then hunters call to say they've found his sons wandering in Tennessee, but Dean is at home and Sam is sitting right in front of him. The two strangers claim to be from another universe. Their journals speak of angels, apocalypses, and a version of Dean who was loved by an angel named Cas. They're hunters, real hunters, and they've seen things John can barely comprehend. Now angels are waking up in his universe for the first time in two thousand years. Demons are fleeing on instinct. The ground shakes like giants are fighting just out of sight. And John has to figure out what the strangers really want, before everything he's built comes crashing down.
