Fics like The Lion Who Loved Red

Red had meant so many things in his life. Pain. Fear. Understanding. Love. Now Red was gone. If anyone had come looking, they might have thought Max had died with him. They had called him a lion long before he knew what it implied; in the process of turning him into a beast, they had forgotten to teach him how to love, a perfect weapon without the flaw of care. And now the one person who had dared to, was instead a broken body at his feet. He doubted any victory or even the simple taste of joy would ever be the same — Or Max, an hurt child, turns to knighthood to chase greatness, and along the way, he meets people who teach him how to love, determined to prove to him that his worth is not based on his victories. Who refuse to ever let him fight alone again. A medieval tale of devotion, healing, tournaments, and horses. Please be kind, this is my first work.
