He knew why Eddie was still touching him, now— his hand, oh so gentle on Buck's skin, squeezed. The pressure itself was light, but the effects were instant and crashed into him like a tsunami. Sometimes, Buck forget that a light squeeze to the back of his neck, getting scruffed, was a one way ticket to making him fully relax. A type of weak in the muscle and bones relaxed, one that could have his jaw dropped— which, he thinks it might be, knowing him— and have him slump into whatever was the nearest surface— which definitely was happening, based on the warm, firm, body he suddenly collided with in front of him. Buck wasn't scruffed often as a young pup but occasionally, when it would happen, he felt like the effects on him were even more so than any other normal person. All the same, the thoughts that raced through his brain slowed to molasses, too muddled and incoherent to make out now. The only thing he knew at this moment was peace, and Eddie's scent that filled his nose.
