Fics like Liberation

What is scarier, choosing discomfort to learn, or conforming to the world because learning is hard? For years, Baron “Bear” Bailey had spent years trapped in a mindset he never questioned, until a series of unexpected moments begin to crack it open. Sandy’s death, caused by his own negligence forces him to confront the state of his life. A conversation with Lindsay reminds him that people are people, not projections of what he thinks they are. Ruthie, the same waitress he practiced his confession to, becomes a catalyst for a journey he never expected to take. Challenging the source of obsession. Questioning the "nice guy" attitude. Actively refusing to take shortcuts, like the One Wish Willow, which will appear once and will be rejected instantly, to never be seen again. Through education on empathy, boundaries, consent, vulnerability, accountability, and social justice, Bear rejects the future Obsession gave him. This is not the story where Bear makes a wish. This is the story where he learns why he shouldn't. This is where he refuses to. And through this journey, he finds liberation.
