Fics like It's a forever kind of thing

Three weeks. It's been three weeks since Shane walked out of Ilya's, breaking off what they had and breaking himself in the process. Running scared, not allowing himself to actually want something that made him feel like Shane the person: not Shane Hollander the hockey player. Ilya never saw him as ‘Canada’s golden boy’, just boring Shane. And somehow it was everything. Two weeks since he started dating Rose, who is lovely. God, she would be perfect for him if he was straight. Why can't he be straight, it'd be so much easier if he was: no secrets, no running around in the dark longing for touches he can't have from the one person he wants. He's not allowed to want him. It's not right, no one would understand. OR Shane gets a tattoo because he misses Ilya.
