Fics like Maybe There's Nothing, Only This Moment

Grace struggles on the trip back to Erid. Some help from his best friend helps to put him back on track. OR: “Rocky, what on Earth are you doing in—” I stop in my tracks. Or, more accurately, I trip, stumble, and then stop in my tracks. Letting out a stream of half-curses, I turn around to glare at the thing that's definitely bruised the front of my calf. That's when I see Rocky. He's… in a suit. Not his ball, but — oh my God — an actual clear, xenonite suit! It's comprised of a lot of small, triangular xenonite panels held together by some kind of… glue? It’s clearly different to what he used for his ball, since it’s completely flexible and way more form-fitting. I can't even begin to imagine how long it took for Rocky to assemble all of those little panels. They're more like shards, actually, reflecting the light of the ship in little spots all over the room, similar to a disco ball. The sight is enough to bring tears to my eyes. I doubt it was intentional, but it's really beautiful.
