Fics like Matters of Flax and Straw

John wakes up in a basement and finds himself at the hands of a lunatic serial killer replaying his own mad version of a fairy tale. He knows Sherlock is on the case, but between the fallout of Sherlock's recent return from "The Fall" and the lack of evidence to work with, John is worried this story might not be a happy ending.
