Fics like Kill the Past, Raise a Glass (Call It a Celebration)

If you ask Illuga how he got himself into this situation, he also doesn’t know. He has no recollection of how he came into possession of a haunted dagger, nor does he know why the ghost knight came with it has somehow become his responsibility. The knight, introduced himself as Lohen with the grace of another time, isn’t of much help. Despite not even remembering why he was sealed off, Lohen wants Illuga’s help setting him free. Illuga could throw away the dagger and return to his peaceful, ghost free life. Yet, the more he learns about the knight from centuries ago, the harder walking away becomes. So for three months, this has been Illuga’s life: work, home, argue with an ancient ghost knight, research on the past that modern historians insist are myth, sleep badly, repeat. Until they finally find their first real lead…
