Fics like Lamb of Gods

A jumbled message from Captain Marvel leads Superman and Batman to the scene of a brutal crime in progress. When the dust settles, they're left with a magic obsessed madman on his way to prison, a grievously injured homeless child, and no sign of Captain Marvel. While Superman and Batman try to track down the missing hero, Bruce Wayne welcomes yet another black haired blue eyed orphan into the ranks, and struggles to navigate the waters of handling a child who is *not* a vigilante. And thank god for that, too. Bruce has had just about enough of children being made into soldiers. Billy Batson is trying very, *very* hard not to freak out. His success is debatable.
