The dread didn't dissipate as Euijoo started to walk down the corridor. Nicholas couldn't see the person who left Euijoo's room; they were blending perfectly, acting almost as Euijoo's shadow. Even their footsteps were synchronized, walking at the same pace. Nicholas didn’t have time to think of anything more when Euijoo reappeared and stopped by the corridor entrance. And a second later, a second Euijoo stepped out of his shadow and was standing right by his side. A heavy silence fell into the living room; no one dared to utter a single sound, and Nicholas was sure that they all stopped breathing at the same time. There were two Euijoos in front of them. Or: Euijoo's mind got split up, and now there were two of them. Nicholas had to navigate two different dynamics of the person he claimed to know the most.
