Fics like A Reason to Come Back

Richie was in deep shit. Catastrophic, friendship-ending, probably-never-being-trusted-with-anything-ever-again kind of deep shit. The kind of deep shit that made ‘Stan is going to kill me’ feel less like a joke and more like a prediction. Richie had been entrusted with one responsibility—one that he had pleaded and begged for. One that no one had forced on him. One that he had, in fact, insisted he was more than capable of handling. And really, how hard could it be to look after a goldfish? or: A meet-cute AU where Richie attempts to become the greatest fish-uncle to ever exist, which ultimately leads to him taking Finn the Goldfish (Stan’s pride and joy) to the vet with the firm insistence that, no, he will not simply “purchase another one.” That’s where Richie meets Dr. Kaspbrak — apparently the only capable vet in the area, and a very attractive one.
