Wednesday Addams entered her marriage with Xavier Thorpe entirely blind to sentimentality, treating it as a good business arrangement. But the culmination of his built-up resentment sits waiting for her on New Year's Day. After walking in on his betrayal on her couch, she instantly declares they’re bond broken. However, his venomous insult presses against a small, hidden center of her chest, leaving a faint, bitter taste at the back of her throat. Unable to ignore the feeling, Wednesday pulls her car out of the gravel driveway and points it north toward the state line. She navigates the familiar streets until she reaches the peeling grey apartment complex where the only person who has ever managed to survive her silence without trying to change it lives, her best friend, Tyler Galpin. They haven't shared much time together since her marriage, but her knock at two-thirty in the morning changes everything. Tyler lets her in, and after an attempt to ease the sudden tension by playing an old movie, Wednesday's analytical detachment completely shatters when she drops her guard. Now, Tyler is ready to force a raw, desperate passion to surface and proving exactly how much she burns for him.
