Fics like godlight

There’s a card sitting on Lovro’s desk — hidden amongst the sea of forgotten homework assignments and doodles and other miscellaneous papers that only add to the warzone on the table no matter how often he tries to clear it — that’s been there for three days. Garish and cartoony, a cheap fifty-cent thing that was probably picked up from some random drugstore as a throwaway thought. Lovro knows exactly what it looks like, has spent hours staring at it, trying to pull meaning from it that doesn’t exist. There’s a sad-faced cartoon kid on the front, holding up a sign that says “Sorry!” written on it in big, blocky letters. Underneath, scrawled with a blue pen, reads “I forgot your birthday!” :: In which Lovro gets a birthday card, among other things.
