Fics like The Cast-Off Crown

"I gave up my crown, my throne, everything,” he steals just a small glance back to his Kingdom, on everything he’d been so eager to leave behind. “I thought that’d be the end of it. I thought that I could just be human again. I thought… that if I came back, I’d finally have everything I ever wanted.” “Well?” his mother questions, drawing his gaze back over to her. “Do you?” “I… I should,” Sora sighs, frustrated with his Kingdom, with himself most of all. “I mean, Xehanort’s gone, the worlds are safe, my friends are safe and I can finally be with them. I should be happy.” He can’t fight back fresh tears as he looks to his mother, utterly distraught. “So why aren’t I?” --- Sort of Keys to the Kingdom 1.5? The immediate aftermath of Sora's return... and how he struggles to feel like himself again after casting off his crown.
