Fics like The Underspace and the Time Machine

In one reality, the Earth Alliance made contact with the Centauri Republic, and both races became diplomatically close, sharing knowledge. In a different reality, that never happened. The Centauri invaded Earth, conquering a world suffering the aftereffects of World War 3, but the Centauri underestimated human savagery as the resistance mounted attack after attack. But right now, two discoveries are made which will change the course of the war, when a resistance ship in the sol system escapes fighters, and discovers a network of corridors, leading them off 12 light-years away. But another discovery will change humanity forever. A scientist has discovered a way to time-travel. Nothing will be the same again.
