further in the room, chris is in his own world on the couch, supposed to be all in his notebook but is looking at anything else but eddie. his eyes are patient, watching the way eddie's chest rose and fell to the crackling of the flames. they've circled around each other for the past few years— the constant touches, the looks, even the small things like how their voices sound so sublime together kept them both on edge with only one thing to secure them at bay— eloping. chris' eyes trace the thick trail of hair peeking from underneath eddie's shirt— and all his attempts to maintain a casual demeanor are washed away by the rain.
