Robby wasn’t very religious. Sure, he prayed, sometimes. Mostly in times of much needed comfort. But there were other times, where the memories of a small-town farm boy turned promising resident doctor whispered softly to him, and he would occasionally mumble an accidental “Please, God,” into the sheets. Now, despite his lack of devoutness, he had never really thought of these as “real” prayers; after all if there was truly an omnipotent being out there, they definitely had better things to do than helping a lonely old man live out his sexual fantasies with a boy half his age.
