Fics like Starvation Will Never Break Me

Shadow knew that the way he felt about food was unhealthy. He understood that it wasn’t normal to stare down at a perfectly good plate of food and hold back a panic attack, or tears, or whatever other unreasonable reaction his mind had when he should have been eating. His heart wasn’t supposed to race when Rouge mentioned that it was nearing dinner; his chest wasn’t supposed to feel tight when Sonic asked him if he was hungry after a race. Shadow hated food. He hated how long it took him to figure out which foods were safe at any given time, and the energy it took to chew, and the texture of mushed food in his mouth, sliding down his throat. ~~~ Shadow struggles with everything relating to food, something he refuses to tell the very few people he cares about. But when a certain blue annoyance discovers his secret anyway, he needs to make a decision: let his friends help, or get better at hiding?
