Fics like It's One (Whole) Universe

It is a balm on Liu Kang’s heart, the way Kung Lao’s hands hold onto him, keeping him close as they wade into the middle of the pool. To be reminded that he was not the only one lonely and adrift while apart. Liu Kang can’t stop the sigh that leaves him, can’t stop his hand from sliding up Kung Lao’s chest to rest over his heart. Feeling it beat into his palm chases away all the worries that had plagued him in his lover’s absence. He’s here now, in one piece and safe.
