Fics like Stardust

Ryo walks toward Sakuya and thinks about stardust. He had read about it everywhere in textbooks, in science magazines, in things he downloaded at two in the morning because he couldn't sleep and the internet was the only thing open. That every atom in the human body started inside a dying star, scattered across space for billions of years before ending up in things, in people. He talked about it with anyone who would listen. It was just something he believed, something that felt more true than most things. And somewhere in the middle of second year he had decided that this was the explanation for Sakuya. Not a metaphor. A literal fact. Because he had seen Sakuya standing in morning light on the first day of second year and shining, actually shining, and there was no other explanation for it except that the light had come from somewhere ancient and had never fully left him.
