Fics like The Good Monster

Centuries before Mjolnir, Loki already knew he didn't belong. He was too weak for an Asgardian, too clever for their battlefield "honor," and always met with a cold pity in Odin’s eye. To accept his fate, Loki quietly stepped one pace behind Thor, trading his crown for the silent posture of a servant—a shift his boisterous brother never noticed, though the palace maids wept in secret. But a midnight discovery in the Weapons Vault reveals a truth far worse than being second-best: Loki is a Jotun. A monster. Convinced that monsters do not deserve bedrooms, happiness, or voices, Loki flees to the frozen, primitive wastes of Midgard. There, deep beneath the northern ice, he builds his own cage—binding himself in heavy chains, covering his eyes, and locking his jaw inside a cruel iron muzzle, drifting into a centuries-long hibernation to get out of Thor’s way.
