Fics like You are the Rifle of the Angels

They died together at the bottom of a war they could not win—the greatest battleship ever built and the destroyer who refused to let her fall alone. As the Pacific closed over their shattered hulls, Yamato’s final words were a promise to the little shield who had guarded her since the drydocks of Kure: Wait for me. But death, for kansen bound by a vow stronger than steel, is not an ending. It is a door. Arashi and Yamato awaken in a world that mirrors the one they left behind, yet gleams with impossible possibility. Here, the Sakura Empire still fights—not against an implacable tide of Allied steel, but against the alien Sirens and rival factions in a war where shipgirls, not mere metal, decide the fate of the seas. Reborn as full kansen, their rigging restored and their cores reforged by the same unbreakable bond that sent them to the deep, they are given what no warship in history ever received: a second chance. This time, there will be no doomed last stand. No sacrifice that goes unrecognized. No surrender. The Tempest and the Mountain will carve a different path through history—one where the Sakura Empire claims its well-deserved victory.
