Fics like Hot Sails

“Please,” okay, probably a woman, strong enough to make Vert strain to keep a grip on her upper arm. “I will pay you, but I need to get out of here before-” “There she is!” Vert’s head snaps up. See, even in a nice place like Corner Village, there are always some assholes ready to make trouble. And sure enough, a couple of thugs who usually have to be tossed out of the local bar after indulging too much are staggering up the docks, leering grins on their faces. “Oi, Hot Sails! Hand the bounty over!” Hrm. “Get in,” Vert says, letting go of the woman’s arm. “But don’t try to go anywhere with my boat, she’s temperamental.” That said, he takes two steps forward and plants himself on the weatherworn planks.
