Fics like Two Birds, One (Grave) Stone

Tim closed his eyes and thought about Jason, bright and passionate and alive. Robin laughing as he leapt across Gotham’s rooftops. Jason snickering into a plate of hors d’oeuvres as Brucie Wayne spilled wine on a rude socialite. Robin gently placing a bandaid on the skinned knee of young girl, spinning a dramatic tale to distract her from the pain. Jason standing in the parking lot of Gotham academy, rambling excitedly about The Great Gatsby to an amused Dick Grayson. Robin grinning over his shoulder at Tim as Tim raised his camera. Gotham needed a Robin. But Robin was dead. Tim thought about Robin, cold and broken and still under Gotham’s soil. Robin, whose last moments had been pain and terror. Robin, calling for a father who would arrive too late. Robin, who would never fly again. Gotham needed a Robin. But Robin was dead. Robin is dead. Tim Drake is going to fix that.
