Fics like F is for Fantasy

Vox has been trying to get an axe in the door of the adventurer's guild for years, but all the best jobs end up going to adventurers with more experience than him, but he's finally found a job. Eliminate the curse in Castle Carmine. The only problem? Apparently, the job can't be done alone. Enter Alastor. An egocentric half-elf here on his own mission, and whether he's seeking money or glory, Vox doesn't care. He's the partner Vox apparently needs for this job, and they're going to have to learn to work together if they want to unravel the mystery of this castle. At the very least, Vox figures the guy will be decent canon fodder if it comes down to it - if he doesn't throttle him for his attitude first. As it turns out, there are some things you can't go through without at least becoming friends. Just friends, right? And watching your life flash before your eyes as you hang over a pit of spikes with only the hand of your unwilling travelling companion wrapped in the back of your shirt to keep you safe - well, that's one of those things. Vox is pretty sure his heart's only beating so fast because of the whole nearly dying thing. Probably.
