Fics like you’re the light (in my tunnel of darkness)

I shift, not really wanting the day to end, “Want to come up?” I try. “I’ll find a horror movie that will actually make you jump.” Maddy laughs. “You don’t need to put on scary movies to get me close to you, Rue—” I’m lost for words. My face heats up, “That’s not— “—I’m a cuddler as you can tell.” She finishes. Oh. I think. So, she knows we were basically tangled into each other this morning. I chew on my bottom lip, my mind about to go into over drive. “You’re doing that thing.” She tells me. “Yeah sorry.” I give an awkward laugh. “You cuddle with all your friends, I’m guessing…” Maddy phones begin to blow up, and she looks at it and roll her eyes while saying, “No. I don’t like sharing beds during sleepovers.” My eyes widen. “I have to go, unfortunately.” She leans over and gives me a hug, “Good night, Rue.” I pull the pillow Maddy was using and fall into a dream that includes hues of purple and whispers of ocean wave promises. or Rue is Cali-sober, searching for something worth living for in the city of angels. The last thing she expects is running into Maddy Perez at Lexi promotion party.
