Fics like Missed Connection

When peace is announced Trapper John goes to Maine to see his friend hoping to make amends and reconnect now that that chapter of their lives is fully closed. Unfortunately, he was under the incorrect assumption that Hawkeye made it back not long after he did. Instead of finding Hawkeye he finds the extended Pierce family making ready for his arrival home. Cousin Bill is volunteered to help Trapper navigate the ruffled feathers he encounters--apparently Hawkeye is the only Pierce that doesn't hold on to a grudge. He learns a bit more about his friend and worries it might be too late to say hello again, never mind goodbye.
