Fics like The Valley Of The Shadow Of Zen

This is a peaks-and-valleys AU, basically a D/s AU on a sine wave. Humans cycle from being dominant to being submissive and back, and the ideal partner is one whose peaks line up neatly with your valleys. Jon has long, leisurely swings, and by adulthood is pretty good at managing his moods. "Stephen", naturally, will rocket from valley to peak and back in the space of a week. Snapshots of their friendship, and then romance, in different combinations over the years.
