There is a puddle of blood atop the blue glass. The sky moves as the gas giant shoves the wind on the Heir’s sacred land. Something incomprehensible has purged the land and bathed the soil in sacrament. On the ground, His corpse is subterfuge, it is meaningless in its aftermath, it is no longer anything that within reasonable doubt, anyone should care about. Yet, the cog on his chest has stopped turning. He gets the impression that this was not meant to happen. He gets the impression, that only this could. In every end there is a beginning, a poppy in the ashen field of war, a speck of rain in the Sahara, a birth in the secrecies of death. “I think I remember now.” “I have to be the hero, don’t I?” Jade claps. Her smile is warming. “Well, someone had to!” - Dave is dreaming, Jade is there, and whether or not she's merely a figment of his mind or a visitor in the nullscape, she has the knowledge of his consciousness. Perhaps things he does not understand himself.
