Fics like exactly right just where it is

“You promise you’re okay?” she asks him, aiming for stern and unquestionably missing it on account of the way her voice wobbles on that promise. Eliot nods. “On my honor.” Then he kisses the inside of her wrist, and he looks at her with consideration in his eyes. “What’ll make you believe it?” Parker’s throat is spontaneously dry and it’s hard to swallow; she tries, but her mouth is still tacky even after. Racing racing racing heart, nervous winging in her stomach. A pulse between her legs when she thinks of what she means to ask for. “I want you,” she says. Eliot looks at her, level. “You’ve got me,” he says. Parker shakes her head. “No, I know. I… I want you.” A moment… and recognition. — A tense moment after a long day has Parker feeling rattled. Eliot wants to help. Together, they figure it out.
